The actress, singer and Rare Beauty founder offered her self-care tips at the Rare Impact Fund Benefit on Oct. 29

Selena Gomez is sharing some rare advice.
Speaking with PEOPLE in an exclusive interview at the Rare Impact Fund Benefit in Los Angeles on Wednesday, Oct. 29, the Rare Beauty founder revealed how she lifts herself up on days when she's not feeling so great.
"Some days you just have to let yourself get it out, and then afterwards, a good laugh," the entertainer, 33, says at the event at NYA Studios West.
"I don't know the key. I just know what works for me," the "In the Dark" singer adds, before detailing the methods that she has found useful.

Gomez continues, "I like to maybe just see one friend … and talk to my therapist, and look for people that help in the situation."
The Only Murders in the Building star offered her self-care tips fittingly at the benefit event that supports her Rare Impact Fund's mission to mobilize "$100 million in contributions for youth mental health."
Gomez attended the event with her husband, Benny Blanco, 37, whom she recently tied the knot with in Santa Barbara, Calif., on Sept. 27.

Now in its third year, the Rare Impact Fund Benefit was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel and featured performances from The Marias and Laufey.
"I hope that we continue to raise for what we're doing all over the world," Gomez tells PEOPLE of raising funds for mental health services.
She adds, "We are reaching 2 million young people a day. It is something I couldn't be more enthused about because it's something that we're actively seeing on the ground that people are working on, so it's amazing."
