Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers completely fell flat on Sunday afternoon.

The Carolina Panthers rolled into Lambeau Field and stunned the Packers 16-13 on Sunday. That ended Green Bay's three-game losing streak and got the Panthers back above .500 this season. They've now won four of their last five, though Sunday's victory was easily their most impressive in that stretch.

While Rico Dowdle had another big day on the ground — he was actually the first 100-yard rusher that the Packers defense has allowed so far this fall — the Panthers didn't do anything extraordinary in Wisconsin. The Packers just looked, well, bad.

The Panthers took a one-point lead into the locker room at halftime, thanks to a late 5-yard touchdown run from Dowdle in the second quarter. Love and the Packers couldn't get much going at all in the first half. Savion Williams fumbled to ruin what was a very promising opening drive deep into Panthers territory, and then they only managed to take a Brandon McManus field goal after intercepting Bryce Young on the next drive to finally get on the board. McManus hit one more field goal before halftime.

It didn't get any better in the third quarter, either. McManus missed a field goal early, and then Love threw a bad ball into triple coverage that was intercepted by Tre Moehrig later in the quarter.

That set up Dowdle's second score of the day, a 1-yard punch-in run, to put them up by a touchdown.

Love got the Packers into the red zone once again early in the fourth quarter, but they stalled out and he threw what should have been an interception on fourth and long. But Mike Jackson, despite being completely wide open, dropped the pick. While it didn't matter and they still forced the turnover on downs, it would have been the easiest interception of Jackson's career.

Remarkably, after forcing a quick punt, Love and the Packers got one last chance. He quickly marched them back down the field and into scoring position in a matter of minutes, and kept the drive alive with an 11-yard completion on fourth down at one point, before Josh Jacobs finally got across the goal line to tie the game up just before the two minute warning. That touchdown was upheld after a challenge.

But Bryce Young got the Panthers moving quickly after that, and they crossed midfield after a 19-yard burst from Dowdle in the final minute to set up Ryan Fitzgerald's game-winning field goal.

Young went 11-of-20 for 102 yards with an interception in the win for Carolina. Dowdle finished with 130 yards and two scores on 24 carries. Tetairoa McMillan had 46 yards on four catches to lead them through the air, too.

The Panthers are still in contention, and are hanging in the NFC South race at a critical point of the season. If they can beat both the New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons in their next two outings, a divisional win — something they haven't done since their Super Bowl run a decade ago — isn't out of the question at all. That's not something many expected even a few weeks ago.

Love finished going 26-of-37 for 273 yards with an interception for the Packers. Jacobs had 87 yards and a score on 17 carries, and Romeo Doubs had 91 yards on seven catches. And in Love's defense, he lost two targets in Sunday's game. Tight end Tucker Kraft left early with a knee injury, and wide receiver Matthew Golden was ruled out with a shoulder injury.

The Packers entered the weekend with the best record in the NFC. They've only lost once this fall, back in a three-point loss to the Cleveland Browns in similar fashion in mid-September. But they didn't look like the best team in the conference on Sunday afternoon, not even close. They'll have to rebound quickly, too, as they'll host the Philadelphia Eagles next week.

Now, one could maybe write off Sunday's loss as just an off day. The last time this happened, Green Bay rattled off three wins and a tie in its next four games. But if they come out flat against defending Super Bowl champions next Monday night, there may be a larger issue here for Love and the Packers.
